Hardwood Flooring

Custom Hardwood Floors or Specialty Flooring in Long Lengths between 3 feet and 12 feet are installed in finer homes with larger rooms or to achieve a longer plank look, as opposed to commodity strip flooring you find in distribution that has a shorter length spec of 1 foot to 7 feet and an average length of 3.5 feet. Your Flooring will be made from lumber selected only from regions known for growing a species with the Best, Color, Grain, Clarity, and Stability Characteristics. Strip Flooring draws Lumber from a multitude of sawmills selected for best price. The normal commodity version of hardwood flooring uses three of the lowest grades of lumber. We’ll let other sectors, like pallet and crating, have them for better utilization. Our use of a straight higher lumber grade has less grain deviation, less burl, less blemishes, that are normally left behind from cutting and removal of the many defects in lower grade lumber. We achieve a grade of select/clear, 20 percent select and 80 percent clear. For better utilization or less waste of the resource, we leave in Select Grade and let you and your floor installer decide if cutting out these very slight imperfections is needed. The look of a floor without shorts below 3 feet in length is vastly different and well worth the small upgrade in price.

Select Grade Our Select Grade Floor naturally yields 80% Clear Grade Flooring by using lumber usually reserved for furniture. This long clear look is similar to the Mill Run Flooring that was common years ago.
