Antique Wood Flooring Heart Pine Floors

Antique Heart Pine Flooring is milled from old barn boards and sawn from old barn timbers. We supply random lengths from 3 feet through 16 feet, and widths up to 15 inches net face of any combination. These photos replicate the rich aged character you will have in your Heart Pine floors. You will find nail and spike holes in these planks along with some original saw marks in your floor. Select floors will have fewer defects, less knots, and smaller sound knots. Character Heart Pine flooring will have a both light and heavy worm holes and insect tracks. Antique Flooring has sound checks up to 1/8 inch. The Character Heart Pine Floors we create for you will have sound and open knots. As always with Antique Flooring you and your flooring contractor will decide to fill open knots or cross cut them out. Heart Pine has a natural range in color. Your Flooring Boards will range in tones from golden honey to some lighter reddish colors. Traditional random Widths were used to fully utilize the mill run lumber with minimum waste. We can create a floor of any design for you in random or single width. Your Floor can have any combination, and all Patterns of Equal Lineal footage. Grades

Commond Grade Heart Pine The color for this grade is amber Heartwood and light tan sapwood mix. Heart content is 50 percent and better. Knots and nail holes are allowed. Some light checks and stain. This is not naily grade. Select Grade Heart Pine Select grade has 90 percent heart content with light sap. Generally this grade is free of nail holes and stain. Some small and occasional knots are allowed. All Heart Clear Grade This grade is free of nail holes, knots and stain. Heart content is 100 percent and free of sapwood. Quarter Sawn Heart Pine Vertical Grain or Quarter Sawn Heart Pine is 100 percent Amber Heartwood. Generally this grade is free of nail holes and stain. Some small and occasional knots are allowed, unless sold as clear. Distressed or Original Surface Original Surface has all the original saw marks and patina. 85 percent heart content and better with small and occasional knots. Color after finishing becomes dark and rich from its natural Distressing. Surface is machined lightly and is lightly sanded in the field. A very light Saw Kerf background with some brighter wood is another way to present the face.
